What is Wireless Mobile Network?

Wireless Mobile Network provides Wi-Fi wireless mesh broadband Internet service in your neighbourhood. Using any PC device that is Wi-Fi 802.11b wirelessly-enabled, you can access the Internet at speeds up to 50 times faster than dial-up.

What do I need to access the service?

You will need three things to begin using Wireless Mobile Network. 

  1. First you will need a PC device that is Wi-Fi 802.11b wireless capability. Your existing device may already have this capability built-in. If not, you can purchase a Wi-Fi 802.11B or G wireless networking card for most major electronics retailers or direct from the manufacturer. When your device is wireless-enabled, you will need to set your SSID (or network identifier) to WMN. Refer to your wireless network card documentation for specific instructions on how to make this change.

  2. Second, you will need a standard Internet-ready browser on any operating system. No additional software is required.

  3. Third, you will need a chose a plan. Wireless Mobile Network has a full line of service plans to meet the needs of any mobile user - from our 1-Day-Access and WMN-Month-Plan for the occasional user to our annual and month to month Subscription plans for the more frequent user.

Where can I purchase a wireless ethernet card?

You can purchase a Wi-Fi 802.11b or g wireless networking card for most laptops and many handhelds from electronics retailers or direct from the manufacturer.

How fast is the Wireless Mobile Network service?

The Wireless Mobile Network uses Wi-Fi 802.11b technology allows for speeds up to 11 Mbps, but throughput is governed by the speed at which the device is connected. Various locations have High Speed connections, which provides users with speeds of up to 1.0 Mbps or greater.

How does the Wireless Mobile Network high-speed wireless Internet service work?

Wireless Mobile Network installs a wireless network throughout your business. This network transmits a signal to the user’s wireless (Wi-Fi) network adapter that automatically detects the Wireless Mobile Network high-speed wireless Internet service. The user receives a login page where they can enter their user name and password or sign-up for a new service plan.

What do I need to get started?

In order to connect to the Internet using Wireless Mobile Network high-speed wireless service you will need a laptop or desktop computer equipped with a standard 802.11b wireless (Wi-Fi) adapter and a Wireless Mobile Network login account.

How do I sign-up for Wireless Mobile Network high-speed wireless Internet service?

Power up your computer with the wireless network adapter connected/installed. Start your web browser. A web page will appear providing the ability to sign-up for a Wireless Mobile Network account (new user) or login to an existing account. It’s that simple. To sign up for a new account, enter new user account data and credit card payment information and you will be online immediately.

How does the service work?

Wireless Mobile Network installs Mesh access points (MeshAP) throughout each service location, which transmit a radio signal wirelessly to a user's Wi-Fi 802.11b wireless network card. With a properly installed wireless network card, a customer launches their browser from within a Wireless Mobile Network area and receives a login page to enter their user name and password. Once their account information is verified, they are able to connect to Internet resources. With full connectivity to the Internet, customers can access any Internet resources; however at this time, corporate networks that support VPN are not supported.

Can I access my corporate network using Wireless Mobile Network?

If your employer has provided you with a virtual private network (VPN) client and a firewall, at this time you cannot access your corporate network. We apologies for any inconvenience.

What does the term Wi-Fi mean?

The term Wi-Fi or “Wireless Fidelity” allows you to connect to the Internet from the comfort of your vehicle, and has become synonymous with 802.11b networks. These networks transmit radio frequencies using a wireless Ethernet protocol called 802.11b.

What can I do when connected to a wireless network?

You can use wireless networking for email, Internet web browsing, and many other web-enabled applications such as banking and stock transactions. As there are multiple users sharing the high-speed communications line, you should not use Wireless Mobile Network wireless service for streaming audio or video, or to download very large files.

Can I use my wireless adapter at other locations?

Yes, since Wireless Mobile Network utilizes standard Wi-Fi 802.11b networking, you can use your adapter at any Wi-Fi certified Hot Spot such as airports, hotels, Internet cafés, and many others.

What network configuration changes must I make on my computer?

Wireless Mobile Network service is capable of detecting most computers’ network configurations with no changes required. This includes DHCP and static IP address configurations. Simply start your computer with wireless network adapter installed and start your web browser. The Wireless Mobile Network Service login page will automatically be displayed.

Can I use my existing 802.11b wireless adapter?

Absolutely. The Wireless Mobile Network wireless network consists of industry standard 802.11b components. All wireless enabled computers and existing 802.11b on wards to g adapters should work. Performance may vary based on specific component specifications.

How do I secure my connection to the Internet through Wireless Mobile Network?

 As with any high-speed wireless service, the Wireless Mobile Network is not inherently secure. Furthermore, wireless communications can be intercepted by equipment and software designed for that purpose. Notwithstanding our efforts to enhance security with respect to the service, we cannot guarantee the effectiveness of these efforts and will not be liable to you or any other party for any lack of security that may result from your use of the service or your device. You are responsible for taking such precautions and providing such security measures best suited for your situation and intended use of the service.

How is sensitive user data protected?

Private data is normally encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol prior to transmission between your web browser and a web server. Do not use online applications without first insuring that data is transmitted securely!

Does Wireless Mobile Network use WEP?

Wireless Mobile Network does not utilize Wired Equivalency Protection (WEP) in any service location due to a number of factors (i.e., lack of standardization, performance, etc.). Encryption via SSL (as explained above) is normally considered sufficient for web-based applications (i.e., email, online banking, financial transactions).

Does Wireless Mobile Network allow wireless PC to wireless PC connections within a service area?
The ability to directly connect from one wireless PC to another wireless PC within a service area is completely disabled and blocked by Wireless Mobile Network equipment to insure your privacy. To share files with others in a service area, you will need to use email or another method that would normally be used to share files.

Do you offer dial-up services?

Our goal is to provide premier wireless broadband Internet access in public locations. Wireless Mobile Network does not offer a dial-up alternative.

I am in a Wireless Mobile Network area. How do I login to my account?

If you are in a Wireless Mobile Network area and your Wi-Fi 802.11b wireless network card is properly installed, launch your browser. You will be presented with the Wireless Mobile Network login page. You will be redirected to the www.moskaluk.com website. Once there, you should enter your user name and password. Once your account information is validated, you will be connected to the Internet.

What operating systems are currently compatible with the service?

Wireless Mobile Network is not OS-specific, and will work with any operating systems as long as there is a compatible, Internet-ready browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.

How do I install the software drivers for my wireless network card?

Software drivers differ depending on the specific wireless network card you purchase. Refer to the documentation that came with your wireless network card for specific instructions.

How do I know if Wireless Mobile Network supports my wireless network card?

Wireless Mobile Network is a Wi-Fi 802.11b network; therefore, any Wi-Fi certified wireless network card would work. Look for the Wi-Fi certification on the wireless network card before purchasing it.

Does Wireless Mobile Network provide me with an email account?

Wireless Mobile Network does not provide email accounts for its users.

Can I access my personal email account through my Wireless Mobile Network account?

You can access any web-based email account such as Yahoo.com or Hotmail.com. You can also access corporate email accounts if your employer provides you with that service. As with any wireless communication, the Wireless Mobile Network service is not inherently secure and you should ensure you have adequate security safeguards in place.

Can I connect using a Macintosh computer?

Yes, Wireless Mobile Network supports Macintosh users. Macs with AirPort cards installed usually require little or no configuration. You will need to set your AirPort card to select the WMN (Wireless Mobile Network). See the AirPort card documentation for specific instructions.

Can I connect using a Palm handheld device?

Yes, Palm handhelds that support Wi-Fi 802.11b wireless technology and utilize a standard Internet-ready browser, such as the Tungsten C, are compatible with the Wireless Mobile Network. Other Palm devices use a web browser that is incompatible with the Wireless Mobile Network.

What if I have problems accessing my VPN or Corporate Intranet?

At this time Wireless Mobile Network does not support Corporate VPN. We appreciate your business and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience.

What constitutes SPAM?

Generally, SPAM is unsolicited bulk email, usually in the context of promotions or advertisements for products or services, which you may receive from time to time. Although in individual cases, SPAM is nothing more than an annoyance to the recipient, in the aggregate, SPAM can have a significant adverse effect on network and computer performance. In some cases, SPAM can significantly slow and even halt network and computer performance.

What is Wireless Mobile Network policy?

Our terms and conditions of service, which our customers must accept as a condition to their use of the network, prohibit any use or attempt to use our network for any fraudulent, unlawful, harassing or abusive purpose, or so as to damage or cause risk to our business, reputation, employees, subscribers, facilities, or to any person. Improper uses include sending or attempting to send SPAM, "pyramid schemes", "chain mail" or "junk mail"; using or attempting to use the network to send altered, deceptive or false source-identifying information; or interfering or attempting to interfere with the access of any user, host or network, including without limitation, sending a "virus" to the network, overloading, "flooding," "spamming," "crashing," or "mail bombing" the network.

What happens to email that is identified as potential SPAM?

In an effort to help protect its customers and their ability to use the network, Wireless Mobile Network reserves the right to not send emails through its network that have been identified as potential SPAM. While most if not all SPAM will be identified and deleted, it is possible that legitimate email may be so identified and deleted. Wireless Mobile Network recommends that customers retain their sent emails until they are sure that their intended recipients have received them.

What can I do to reduce the SPAM I receive?

If you are receiving SPAM, you can respond to the sender and request that they stop. Keep in mind, however, that by so notifying the sender, you confirm that your email address is valid. There is no guarantee that the sender will stop sending you SPAM. Another possibility would be to contact the Internet service provider that is the source of the SPAM and request that they cause this activity to cease. You may also elect to purchase and install an anti-spam software solution.

What can I do about my sent emails that have been identified as potential SPAM?

If you have sent an email that has been identified by our network as potential SPAM, it will be deleted and there is no way for us to retrieve it. We recommend that you retain your sent emails until you are sure that they have been properly delivered to the intended recipient. You should also examine your email for excessive distribution lists or word choices that would be indicative of SPAM. It is possible that by reducing the number of recipients or using alternative words in your email that it will pass the screen of our anti-SPAM filtering system once you resend it in modified form.

Currently the area which Wireless Mobile Network service is located here.

Where can I use the service?

Wireless Mobile Network is available in currently in select locations in Toronto.  We are currently testing the network to expand. Our service will have predefined coverage locations allow for much greater data transfer speeds than on a cellular network.

Can I use the Wireless Mobile Network service outside or in my home?

Yes, we do offer service coverage outside or in your home. The Wireless Mobile Network is Mesh-based, not cellular; therefore the service is intended to be used from within specific physical area. In some cases, coverage will spill out into a small area surrounding a service location, but that is not by design. Although the Wireless Mobile Network service would be available, the Wi-Fi 802.11b technology is not proprietary, and equipment can be purchased to establish a home Wi-Fi wireless network. The same wireless networking card could be used on a private Wi-Fi network as on Wireless Mobile Network’s public Wi-Fi network.

When will service be available in my area?

Wireless Mobile Network is continually building new locations. Our goal is to make the service available where you want to access the Internet while away from your home or office. Check back here often as we continue to expand our network.

How will I be billed?

You will be billed automatically each month to the credit card or PayPal you selected when you signed up for service.

If I cancel my service, do you prorate the monthly recurring fee on Subscription plans?
No, we do not prorate the monthly recurring fee if you cancel service in the middle of your billing cycle. You will owe the entire amount for that month.

How can I save money on my bill?

There are a couple of ways to save money on your bill. Each way involves changing your rate plan. You can change your rate plan if:

You like the service and you are willing to commit to an annual Subscription plan. Our annual Subscription plan offers the lowest monthly rate for unlimited data transfer.

You are a Pay as you go customer and are willing to sign up as a subscriber on our - Daily or Month-to-Month plans.

Contact Customer Service if you would like to upgrade your rate plan.

Why am I provided with an online invoice?

We create online invoices to supply you with a detailed view of your past Wireless Mobile Network account activity. You can download, save, and print past invoices - which provides you with a financial and service usage record of your account.

Is my online invoice considered a bill?

No, your online invoice is not a bill. Your online invoice is simply a record of your financial and service usage activity. You will continue to be billed as you are now.

Can all customers view an online invoice on the website?

Not all customers can view an online invoice on this web site.

Can I view my online invoice without being logged into the Wireless Mobile Network?

Yes, you can view your online invoice through the Wireless Mobile Network Webpage without login. Click "View Invoice" in the left hand menu bar.

When will my latest online invoice be available on the website?

You can view your latest online invoice 24 hours after your bill date ends. Invoices are not created in real time, so the latest invoice does not reflect your current payment.

How far back can I view my online invoices?

Starting on January 1 2005 invoices will be available online. Moving forward, online invoices will be posted monthly - for up to 12 months. If you need an archived invoice farther back than 12 months you can follow the instructions on the account management page and request a copy of your invoice via email.

Are there any terms and conditions that apply to your service plans?

As a condition of service, you are required to agree to our Terms and Conditions of Service and the Rate Plan Information that applies to the rate plan selected

Is there a term commitment required?

A term commitment is required for both of our subscription plans. A one-month commitment for our Unlimited National Month-to-Month Plan, and a 12-month commitment for our Unlimited National-Annual Plan. No term commitment is required for our Pay as you go or 1-Day-Access Plans.

Are corporate rates available?

What if I change my mind? Can I cancel my service?

Yes, you may cancel your service at any time. You will still be responsible for any service or usage charges incurred prior to cancellation. If you cancel before the end of your monthly billing cycle, you will be charged for the entire month without prorating. For our annual Subscription plan, you may cancel your service without penalty during the first 30 days after account activation. After the 30-day period, cancellations on our annual Subscription plan are subject to an early termination fee per subscription of $200 or the monthly recurring charges for the remainder of the term commitment, whichever is less.

Can I change or cancel my plan online?

To change or cancel your service plan, please contact Customer Service at 416 737-8230.

Can I view my account information without being logged in?

Yes, you can access your account information from the Wireless Mobile Network home page without being login. Simply enter your user name and password to access your account information.

Does your website ever run special?

Yes we do. Check our website from time to time to see what special promotions we are offering.

Where can I find a list of the Service Plans you offer online?

Visit our Services page and select Service Plans.

Is a term commitment required?

Each of our users is required to accept our Terms and Conditions of Service and the Rate Plan Information that applies to the rate plan selected. In addition, a minimum term commitment is required for each of our Subscription plans. A one-month commitment is required for our Month-to-Month Plan, and a 12-month commitment is required for our Unlimited National-Annual Plan. No minimum term commitment is required for our Pay as you go or 1-Day-Access plans.

How can I obtain more information about Subscription plans?

Contact Customer Care or visit the Services page and select Service Plans.

Can I change my Subscription plan?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time. You may upgrade from our Month-to-Month plan to our annual plan without penalty. However, if you are currently an annual subscriber and downgrade to our Month-to-Month plan, or if you downgrade to a non-Subscription plan, you will be treated as having cancelled your service. Therefore, in the case of our annual Subscription plan, you will be subject to an early termination fee per subscription of $200 or the monthly recurring charges for the remainder of the term commitment, whichever is less. If you are on a promotional plan, you cannot change to a different promotional plan for a period of 12 months.

What does MB of data transfer mean?

A megabyte (MB) is a standard measure of data size. A megabyte is equal to 1024 kilobytes (KB). Generally, special applications such as audio files and streaming video are MB intensive.

What happens at the end of the term commitment period?

If you are an annual subscriber, your Subscription plan will automatically convert to a month-to-month service at the end of your commitment.

Can I roam with my subscription plan?

Yes, we offer roaming capabilities with all our plans. No additional roaming charge will apply.

Can I receive a refund for unused login?

1-Day-Access and 1-Month-Access are non-refundable

Do I have to pay a deposit to activate my Access plan?

No, a deposit is not required.

How can I purchase more Access Plan?

You can purchase another 1-Day-Access by visiting the Sign Up page and selecting Member sign in.

Is a term commitment required with the 1-Month-Access plan?

1-Month-Access customer is required to accept our Terms and Conditions of Service and the Rate Plan Information that applies to our 1-Day-Access plan. No term commitment is required. All you do is select the plan and you are ready to enjoy the freedom of the 1-Day-Access plan.

What happens if I run out of 1-Day-Access?

The next time you log-on, you will receive the "Refill Your 1-Day-Access Account" page. If you would like to refill, follow the instructions on this page and then you can start using the service again.

When will my 1-Day-Access expire?

Your 1-Day-Access will expire 24 hours from activation, or in the case of refills, the date of purchase.

When do my 24 hours start?

Your 24 hours start when you log-in for the first time for each 1-Day-Access purchased.

Will I receive a bill for my 1-Day-Access plan?

No, you will not receive a bill. You will be charged on your credit card when you activate service and each time you refill your account.

Can I purchase multiple 1-Day-Accesses?

Yes, you can purchase multiple 1-Day-Accesses. Although, when you activate your account you can only purchase one at that time. On future refills, you can purchase multiple 1-Day-Accesses at a time.

Can I change to the Pay as you go plan or a Subscription plan?

Yes, if you activated on the 1-Day-Access plan you are not on a term commitment; therefore you can change plans anytime you like. Although, if you still have remaining 1-Day-Accesses, and you change to a Subscription or Pay as you go plan, you will lose any remaining 1-Day-Accesses.

Can I use my 1-Day-Access at any WMN Area?

Yes, you can use your 1-Day-Access at any WMN Area.

Can I roam with my 1-Day-Access?

Yes you can Roam the WMN area.

Is a term commitment required with the Pay as you go plan?

A Pay as you go customer is required to accept our Terms and Conditions of Service and the Rate Plan Information that applies to our Pay as you go plan. No term commitment is required. All you do is activate on the Pay as you go plan and you are ready to enjoy the freedom.
